Homecoming Spotlight: Zaiden Patel

Homecoming Spotlight: Zaiden Patel

Homecoming court is an honorable representation that only a select number of boys are nominated onto. Zaiden Patel (12) is a well-rounded individual that truly deserves this opportunity. Patel is involved in many extracurricular activities like soccer, Anchor Club, Panther Crew, Hosa, DECA, and National Honor Society. Being nominated means a lot to Patel.

“Being nominated means representing the school in a leadership way; showing my unique ability to collaborate with my peers,” Patel said.

Throughout his years of high school, Patel hopes to have been a voice and inspiration for underclassmen. Patel pours his heart out in his clubs, and Patel hopes to use his dedication towards his clubs to motivate others to adventure out of their comfort zone.

“The impact I’ve hoped to have made is to join different clubs so you can be active and meet new people and to be kind,” Patel said.

Everyone has someone they can count on. Whether that be a peer, a family member, or a teacher. Having someone to push you encourages you be your best at all periods of time. Over Patel’s high school journey, he has had the influence of his parents to drive him to be a stellar student.

“What has driven me to be motivated in school has been my parents. They’re my biggest inspiration and motivators to keep me going. They motivate me everyday just by getting better each day,” Patel said.

High school has provided Patel with a multitude of opportunities, not just academically, but also with his friendships. Patel reflects on how his high school experiences have prepared him for his future at the collegiate level, such as his experience with class discussions and how the annual HOSA competition has given him the confidence to go out and represent his school.

“High school has given me the opportunity to meet new friends and to demonstrate my academic ability within classes and at competitions,” Patel said.

High school has also taught Patel determination and dedication. He has learned that life is hard and you have to take chances to make a change. This is a strong personality trait that will carry Patel throughout the rest of his life.

“I’ve learned that not everything comes to you for free, and you have to work hard to reach your goals in life,” Patel said.

After high school, Patel plans to attend college and go on to dental school. This is where he can help his patients with dental hygiene and make a change in dental care. As of now, Patel plans to attend the University of Tennessee and study biochemistry to help pursue his goal as a dentist. He is still waiting to hear from other colleges to make his final decision.

Patel is a great candidate for the winter homecoming court. He has a high set of goals and strives to be a better person every day. Patel represents Lenoir City very well with energy and kindness. He hopes to make an impact in his clubs and push others to join as well. Through all of his goals, involvement, and school spirit Patel will continue to be an inspiration to his peers.
