This year’s 96th Battle of the Bridge was a close call, with Loudon’s win of  27-26. From the loud roar of the student section to the tears of those many players and their hard work. Lenoir City High School students left Loudon High School disappointed. Not in their players but in the hope they had of winning this year’s Battle of the Bridge. Many Lenoir City High School students share their experiences at their first and last Battle of the Bridge.

Owen Poisal (12) shares his thrilling experience at his last Battle of the Bridge as a student at Lenoir City High School.

“I was loud that day but overall it was by far the most enjoyable one, We should’ve won but we got destroyed,” Poisal said.

Football player Kenneth Norris (12) shares his overall thoughts on last Friday’s game and how he and his teammates did. He also shares his thoughts on his final battle of the Bridge as a student at Lenoir City High School.

“Overall it was a good game, we ended up losing because of our own mistakes. I’m also very saddened about this being my last Battle of the Bridge and I wish it would’ve turned out differently,” Norris said.

Other students such as Sophia Mendoza (9) shares her first experience at Battle of the Bridge.

“It was pretty good overall, but we lost. I also had fun and enjoyed being with my friends” Mendoza said.

High school student Mckenize Needham (12) also shares her experience at her last battle of the bridge with her son Zayden Winton.

“It was so fun at the battle of the bridge with Zayden, everybody wanted to hold him and he had a lot of fun. I was really nervous at first because it was a big area and he’s a baby of course but he was dancing and playing the whole time. I think this year’s Battle of the Bridge was different from my first one because I had a lot more friends and so much fun,” Needham said.

Even if Lenoir City High School didn’t win this year’s Battle of the Bridge, its students still managed to show their school spirit and have a great time with friends. Whether it was their first or last Battle of the Bridge these memories will go on to live forever.
