Field Day Fever

Field Day Fever

Field day is a day packed full of fun events and brings excitement each year. As it gets closer to the day everyone is pumped for the new and old activities that are planned. To begin with, there is a volleyball game between the grade levels in the morning. Next, everyone goes and watches the end-of-the-year video to reminisce on the fun times we had during the year. Then, there is the announcement of the yearbooks. The yearbooks are distributed and people can sign one another’s. Finally, everyone is released to participate in the activities they would like to.

There are a plethora of fun physical activities that field day has to offer. There are water slides, laser tag, volleyball, yard games, etc. These options allow for a day that is fun in the sun. From a freshman’s perspective, Christina Pynzaru (9) has high expectations for the outdoors portion of field day.

“I expect that the outside activities are going to be packed, but I am most excited about them. I’m excited for the slip and slide and the obstacle course,” Pynzaru said.

Field day also has indoor activities and crafts for the people who would rather stay inside. Some fun things are a craft room, a movie room, a puzzle room, etc. With the options of outside and inside activities, field day is amusing for everyone. Isaiah Norman (10) is excited to participate in some of his favorite activities from last year.

“I think karaoke [is my favorite] because I find it really funny when people go up to sing. I’m also excited about the food trucks because I like to munch,” Norman said.

The grand reveal of the yearbook is a huge thing. The yearbook is kept secret the entire school year and on field day it is revealed to the student body. Anna Johnson (11), who has been a part of Journalism this year and the creation of the yearbook, is thrilled to be helping with the distribution of it during field day.

“I’m excited to work the problems table with Lily, and I get to be passive-aggressive towards people,” Johnson said.

Make sure you come on May 3rd to experience one of the most eventful days of the school year!
