Elon Musk is now the new owner of twitter, one of the biggest social media platforms.

Musk is the CEO of the well-known, multinational company, Tesla. This renowned company makes cars that are supposed to drive themselves in a safe manner. This company is what helped Musk earn the money he needed to buy twitter. Musk spent 44 billion dollars buying this company.

The transition was to be done on October 28. Later that month, Musk walked in holding a sink saying, “Let the sink in.” In business terms, this means Musk was, “taking radical action”.

Musk wants to make Twitter a safe place for all he wants to make sure everyone has a warm welcome to this social media platform.

“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital square… where beliefs can be debated healthily,” Musk said, in article “Elon Musk says he doesn’t seek a ‘free-for-all hellscape’ for Twitter,” by The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Twitter in the past has been monitored by people to make sure no-one says anything bad or offensive. There are still some things that have been able to slide, so Musk is going to enforce that idea even more.

“Twitter cannot become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said with no consequences!” Musk said.

He is trying to make this platform safer for so many more users. He encourages political discussions to continue, but he would prefer these discussions to be in a respectful manner.

Elon Musk has made many statements to the Twitter community that he was not buying Twitter for the money, but for the safety of the community and wanting to make the media platform better than it was before.
