This year the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers played at Neyland Stadium on November 18, 2023. The game started with a huge surprise when Tennessee player Jaylen Wright made a touchdown just 11 seconds into the game. Tennessee was 7-3 in most of the first quarter but with just 3:17 on the clock Georgia made a touchdown bringing the score to 10-7. An interception had also happened toward the end of the first quarter. Just before the second quarter started, former quarterback, Payton Manning stepped out with the iconic legend Dolly Parton. She sang a spirited rendition of “Rocky Top” as well as telling Manning, “I will always love you” hinting at one of her most famous songs. During her performance, Parton faced some technical issues but despite those issues, many fans as well as the orange and white football lovers enjoyed her performance. 

With 8 minutes left in the second quarter, Georgia made another touchdown making the score 17-7 and just 7 minutes later Georgia made another touchdown making the score 24-7. With just seconds left in the second quarter, Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton threw the ball to wide receiver Kaleb Webb, but Webb unfortunately didn’t catch the ball at the end zone. Having there been 3 downs, Tennessee made a field goal making the score 24-10. 

In the second half, with 9:24 left in the 3rd quarter, Georgia made yet another touchdown bringing the score to 31-10. Georgia yet again made another touchdown with a minute left in the 3rd quarter. The score was 38-10. Unfortunately, Tennessee lost to Georgia with the final score being 38-10. With Georgia being number 1 in college football, at the moment, it was somewhat expected that Tennessee would lose, but with the great atmosphere Neyland stadium has and all its amazing fans one could wonder if Tennessee was capable of winning. In the meantime, DAWGS ON TOP!
