Senior Spotlight: Natalie Dunlap.

In high school, you can make many memories just like 12th grader Natalie Dunlap. Dunlap has done Panther Crew and marching band throughout her journey in high school. She has made memories, friends and she’s had fun times for the start of a new year. Dunlap shares one her favorite memories of high school.

“My favorite high school memory is when the LCHS marching band won grand Champion my junior year,” Dunlap said.

As well as working hard to win competitions, Dunlap also works hard to help support her school by being in Panther Crew to show her support. Dunlap also tries to get involved as much as she can.

My favorite thing about Panther Crew is how involved we get to be and how much we get to support the school,” Dunlap said.

Through her time in Panther Crew, she has also found many of her favorite memories. Dunlap also likes to help out with kids in elementary school and help them experience what it’s like in high school and classes there are.

“My most memorable thing about being in Panther Crew was getting to tour the second graders and show them the cool classes high school offers,” Dunlap said.

Being in Panther Crew is important to Dunlap, just as much as being in marching band is also important to her. She has made new friends, met amazing people, worked harder, and made improvements. Dunlap shares what she loves about being in marching band.

What I love about being in marching band is how close we all get. Like at the beginning of band camp, you don’t really know anybody but by the end of the semester you can name every single person in the band,” Dunlap said.

From all of her experience, being a member of the band for four years now, Dunlap is able to recognize that the start of band camp is really where improvement comes from. For all marchers who want to be a part of the band, Dunlap gives advice for the next season and for future seasons.

“I would tell incoming marchers to give it their all, not to let anybody bring them down or make them feel less than they are, and to practice,” Dunlap said.

Dunlap also likes supporting our school with helping out on Fridays with Panther Crew’s Dirty Soda Bar. Dunlap shares what she does to help support our school.

“I like supporting our school because you get to do a lot of fun things like Dirty Soda bar and you meet a lot of new people by doing so,” Dunlap said.

With things coming to an end, Dunlap often finds herself reflecting on good memories from being in Panther Crew and marching band. Dunlap shares what she will miss from being a part of both the extracurriculars.

“I will miss being able to be a part of the school’s community and participating in competitions with freshmen. The thing I will miss most about marching band is the people and connections I have within it. From people who graduated my freshman year to eighth graders and freshmen this year, I have gained so many new friends and I’m really going to miss them,” Dunlap said.
