A Tennessee Summer

The sun is beginning to shine, The temperature is going up and schools all over east Tennessee are on the brink of letting out students for summer break. Students in East Tennessee have many opportunities to do fun activities over the summer. If you are coming to East Tennessee or live in Tennessee, here are some fun things you can do to fulfill your summer break.

One of the most popular places to visit in Tennessee is the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area. There are a variety of things to do up there. There many shopping centers to shop at that include Tanger Outlet, The Mountain Mall, and more. If you like the thrill of roller coasters, There are many amusement rides in Pigeon Forge and which are mostly at Dollywood. If you want to cool off from the heat, You can go to many water parks which include Wilderness at the Smokies and Soaky Mountain. 

If you like to enjoy the wilderness, There are many hiking trails to hike on in Tennessee. East Tennessee ha trails like Coyote Loop Trail in Greenback, Trail Mizell Trailhead in Lenoir City, and North Ridge Trail in Oak Ridge. The trails like House Mountain State in Corryton, Concord Park East Trails in and I.C King Park in Knoxville have great views of mountains. If you want to see the waterfalls, There is Ozone Falls in Rockwood, Conasauga Falls and Wildcat Falls in Tellico Plains.

Due to the high temperatures in East Tennessee, Tennessee has many swimming areas for you to cool off at. Ijams Nature center in Knoxville has a beautiful swimming area. There is also Mead’s Quarry Lake and The Townsend Wye to swim at. Knoxville also has many public swimming pools open for anyone to swim. 

Summer 2022 will be one for the books from the first looks of it. You will not want to miss out this summer!
