Early Sunday morning tragedy struck in Lexington Kentucky when fifteen year old Trinity Gay, daughter of 3 time Olympian Tyson Gay was shot.

At four in the morning, a shootout between two cars broke out and Trinity was hit. An illegal gun sale was occurring before the shooting started. Although not thought to be involved, a stray bullet went through Gay’s neck.

Support has poured out for the Gay family by fans and fellow olympians. Gay has spoken out about the killing at a ceremony held at her high school’s track. Spikes were hung over the fence, and balloons were released in her favorite colors.

Four men have been arrested over the case. Three men have plead not guilty on Monday. Two of the men have since posted posted bail. On Wednesday another man was charged connected with the case based of wanton endangerment.
