On Monday, September 21st, the Lenoir City Swim Team had their first practice at the Claire Donahue Aquatic Center. The coaches. Jamie Yoder and Sheyenne Fish, both said they were very excited for this season of the swim team.

 

The high school swim team consists of 6 boys and 4 girls from LCHS, along with 7 other swimmers from different high schools.

 

Rachel Scheffer, a freshman at LCHS, gave her opinion on the team this year. “It’s my first year on the high school swim team”, she said. “It will be much harder, but I will work on that challenge”. She also said she was both nervous for this year.

 

Nathan Holliman, another freshman on the team from LCHS, said he was very excited for the team this year. “I can’t wait for the end of the year meets, especially the state meets,” he said. “I love swimming, and I’m extremely excited for the meets”.

 

This year, the swim team has two coaches, Jamie Yoder and Sheyenne Fish. Yoder is the head coach of both the LCHS swim team and the Tellico Village summer swim team. She was previously an assistant coach but has now taken the main position. Sheyenne Fish is the assistant coach, and is currently attending Roane State.
The first meet of the season will be held Saturday, November 7th at the Lenoir City pool against Powell High School.
