Go Big, Don't Go Home

Whether you are a ‘go out and do things’ person or more of a ‘stay in and chill’ kind of person, everybody is excited for the upcoming Summer Break. Lillian Lambert (9) is strictly a part of the former category. She plans to be all around the world this summer.

To start out Lambert’s super awesome summer break, she’s going on a trip to Clearwater Beach, Florida with a good friend of hers, Julia, and Julia’s family. While most of the trip’s itinerary is uncertain, there’s word that a golf cart may be involved.

“I don’t know much of what we’ll be doing, but I do know that she and I get a golf cart to drive around. And I know that we’ll basically be living on that thing.” Lambert said.

And while zooming around on the beach in a golf cart seems like an entertaining way to pass time, it’s not the only trip she has on her bucket list this summer. Lambert will also be taking a 10 day trip to Copenhagen, Denmark!

“Yeah, we’re definitely flying. It takes forever and there’s, like, four connections.” Lambert said.

A flight from JFK International Airport to CPH Copenhagen Airport takes around nine hours and thirty minutes, but she believes it’s worth it to go see her family. It will be a big family reunion to say the least.

“It’s all of my step father’s family, so we’re not all related biologically, but my great grandfather on his side lives there. And we have some aunts, uncles, and cousins as well. Also one of my stepdad’s cousins was a chef for Denmark’s king and queen. I love going to his house the most, he makes amazing frikin food.” Lambert said.

Along with the food she’ll get from her step dad’s uncle, Lambert wants to branch out and see what all Denmark has to offer.

“I want to try some new foods in Copenhagen, they have a lot of interesting pastries that I’m hoping to try.” Lambert said.

While Copenhagen is the biggest city in Denmark, it’s still smaller than the state of Maine. However, there’s lots to do, including shopping, which is a part of the trip that Lambert is definitely looking forward to.

“I want to do a lot of shopping in Denmark, along with the food and family.” Lambert said.

Even after she gets home from Copenhagen, Denmark, she has more summer fun to experience. She and her family plan to make a third trip to stay in St. Simon Georgia for a couple of days.

Lillian says that her family plans to chill from there on out. Spending relaxing family time in the summer sun, tanning in the sun, or swimming in the ocean.

“I definitely have the kind of family that is really laid back, and doesn’t want to do anything but chill while they’re at the beach.” Lambert said.

When the second beach trip of the summer comes to an end, Lambert will have been all over the world. Beach hopping and out of country extravaganzas really do make for a summer to look forward too.
