Cookie Tins

The temperature outside is dropping and the ovens’ temperatures are rising. Holiday time is just around the corner and that means it’s time for baking!

Every year, the culinary class–taught by Mrs. parks–bakes as many cookies as they can and sells them to the students and faculty. During the months of October through December, the culinary students take orders for the cookie tins that will be delivered in December.

There are many different cookies that come in the tins.

“We have classic cookies such as: sugar, chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, lemon. But we also have holiday favorites such as peppermint hot chocolate cookies and gingerbread men,” said Carly Lance (12)

Making enough tins is a heavy task to take on. In order to have enough time to prepare and give out these cookie tins, class starts early.

“We start making the cookies and properly storing them the beginning of December. This is to ensure that we have the correct amount we need to complete all the orders. Then when it is time for final packaging we do what we call “ cookie assembly line,” said Lance.

Baking is always the way to the heart, especially around the holidays, and the culinary class is in everyone’s minds during this season.
