Excitement at the VMAs

Excitement at the VMAs

This year of music is passing us just like another VMAs have just passed us. The 2022 MTV Music Video Awards was held live from the Prudential Center. We usually see similar faces from the past decade, but this year we saw some new artists get rewarded.

There were a lot of awards handed out at the VMAs. Taylor Swift went home with two awards – Video of the year and Best Direction – and in one of her speeches she announced her new album: Midnight; Harry Styles also went home with two awards by winning Best Cinematography and Album of the year; Dove Cameron is a face that we haven’t seen in a while, and she won Best New Artist; Song of the Year was awarded to Billie Eilish’s, Happier than Ever; Jack Harlow won song of the summer with his song First Class; Bad Bunny won Artist of the Year and made history being the first non-English artist to win this title.

Along with the awards, a lot of artists performed at the VMA’s. Nicki Minaj performed some of her great hits in a unique dollhouse set. Dove Cameron sang Breakfast and Boyfriend. Red Hot Chili Peppers made their VMAs return since 2000 and performed Black Summer and Can’t Stop. Many other artists like Anitta, Bad Bunny, Blackpink, Conan Gray, Eminem, Snoop Dog, Flo Milli, J Balvin, etc also performed on the VMA stage.

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards was eventful to say the least. So many new artists were rewarded for their hard work from the past year. A lot of music artists also got to showcase their different songs by leaving amazing performances on the stage. This year has been filled with all sorts of music and who knows what next year’s Video Music Awards will bring.
