Shocked, confused, and honored three words that describe how senior football player Suzanna Jay felt after being crowned Lenoir City’s 2021 homecoming queen.

Suzanna is the kicker for the Lenoir City panther football team this is Suzanna second year on the team and has made quite the impact for the panthers as their starting varsity kicker. It was a surprise for the football start to be nominated for the homecoming court,

“I was very surprised yet honored to be just nominated by my peers for the homecoming court” said Jay

Jay was even more surprised to win the crown during halftime she had this to say, “I was really surprised when they said my name as the queen, my first thought was did this just actually happen. I thought that Emma Maquliken or Nicole Miraflores was going to win.”

After winning the crown Suzanna had an amazing game she made all of her kicks, sadly coming up short of winning the game against Clinton high school.

“After halftime the excitement of being crowned queen gave me a confidence boost that was shown in my performance on the field,” said Jay.

Congratulations to Suzanna on her amazing performance and her win can’t wait to see what she does for the rest of this season.
