Taking a test…but for fun?

Personality tests are a bizarre thing. Whether you had to take one for a class assignment or took one or more in your free time, you’ve probably wondered why just answering these questions can give away your ‘personality’. It’s what everyone wonders when it comes to a website describing you better than you can yourself.

In guidance we took one because we were supposed to learn more about ourselves,” said Matthias Witte.

The particularly worded questions used for these tests are to make you dive further into your emotions, and to figure out the happy medium between how you think of yourself and how you want others to think of you. The descriptive results are meant to extend your thought process, and you can decide to agree or disagree on what it says you are and aren’t.

Ava McCroskey said, “I’d say it accurately described me for the most part”.

Maybe the last time you took a personality test by choice was in seventh grade when you and your friends would go through buzzfeed at a sleepover, or maybe you never really took one. Either way they can be very useful. At those sleepovers you could have learned that your new friend likes to be alone more than you thought, and you can keep that in mind from now on. Personality tests’ have so many uses to them beyond what people think.

I think they might be useful to help with jobs/careers. It could help see some of the things that you could enjoy or be best at,” said McCroskey.

Many people have different opinions on personality tests, they can have enjoyable experiences, but their experience is more or less caused by their results, whether accurate or not. What the websites say about your personality will show flaws, socialness, and of course, your personality.
