Last year we saw the iPhone 7 debut. A lot people loved it and thought the phone was very useful and some of them bought it only for the good quality of the camera. Others thought it was the same thing as iPhone 6s and it was just a waste of money. This year, Apple will release their newest device, the iPhone 8, a smartphone with a lot of new features that will help Apple get more users.

Every year Apple has their event (supposedly to be during the first weeks of September) in which they present their new devices and gadgets such as phones, smartwatches, tablets, and even new operating systems. It is expected that this year’s event will focus on the new iPhone and the new operating system (iOS 11). The design of the new iPhone will be similar to the iPhone 7 plus, except for the screen, the home button (it will be replaced with a virtual home button), and it will have a curved, edge-to-edge OLED display with True Tone technology and/or Ion-X glass. There are some other interesting aspects about the iPhone 8:

  • Three new models including two minor “S” upgrades and an all-new iPhone 8
  • Virtual home button
  • Facial recognition alternative to Touch ID
  • “Wireless” charging (i.e. inductive charging) and/or faster USB-Charging
  • Dual-lens camera, possibly in a vertical configuration
  • AR capabilities featuring rear-facing 3D laser for enhanced depth perception
  • Support for the Apple Pencil
  • Stainless steel and glass body

Rumors appeared that this iPhone will be almost 1000 dollars. A lot of people think that Apple is not being fair to their customers for the extremely high prices of their products.

Alejandro Cintora-Huichapa (11) explained why he would not like to get the IPhone 8. “Even though the phone is gonna be amazing, I don’t think I would buy it because I don’t want to spend almost 1000 dollars on just a phone,” said Huichapa.

Technology lovers will be waiting for this phone to come out; however, many of them would not buy it for the ‘’extremely high price.
