Movember

Movember

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to an end. people are starting to bring cause to another type of cancer.

The month of November is “No shave November”– or also known as Movember. This month is to raise awareness for men’s health, more specifically prostate cancer, which is one of the most common forms of male cancer.

For the whole month of November, men (and some women) who want to participate, do not shave.

The man who typically doesn’t have facial will now stand out from his everyday look. By doing that, he is having people ask him questions on why he would do that–therefore spreading the word about prostate cancer.

“Well, it’s cancer,” said Donnie Haire (12), “ we need to know more about it.”

When educated about what Movember is, Haire wanted to participate. He wanted to make a statement about what is going with men’s health.

“I’m participating because my grandfather passed away from cancer,” said Jimmy McFalls (10).

“I want to show my support for the men out there dealing with cancer,” said McFalls.

This is a topic that hits close to home for Mcfalls, like it could for many others.

This month is to show your support for those are dealing with prostate cancer or have passed from it.

Educate yourself and others about this topic. If possible try, to take part in Movember and show your support. For more information about Movember, go to Movember.com and see how you can do your part.
