Lady Vols Season Preview

There’s something special about women’s basketball. Maybe it’s because the Lady Vols have been the most successful program at Tennessee for the past few years, and go to the NCAA Tournament almost every year. Not only that, but Tennessee had the great Pat Summitt as their head coach for many years. I experienced multiple NCAA Tournament runs, big wins, horrible losses, but the biggest loss was when Pat Summitt head to step down from the Head Coaching position because of health problems. Long time assistant Holly Warlick was named the head coach for the 2012-2013 season through two years Warlick is 54 and 13. The Lady Vols play seven teams in the top eleven, and four of those games are played away from Thompson-Boling Arena. They also play number twenty Oregon State and at number twenty-four Rutgers.

The Lady Vols are hoping to return to the Final Four this year, and add another chapter to the historic book of the Lady Vols program. The Lady Vols will start out this season ranked number five, and be looking for another SEC regular season championship then the SEC tournament Champions. The Lady Vols will be looking for their first championship since 2008, and with another top ten recruiting class coming in they look prime to do it.
