This winter was a cold one, but lots of people still went out to enjoy and embrace the cold. There were many popular activities such as winter camping, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, sledding, shopping, and building a snowman. Many people have done these different activities during this winter but most people went snowboarding and skiing. Skiing and snowboarding are the most popular winter sports.

Snowboarding is not a common hobby for someone in Tennessee, but Eastin Steils (10) has snowboarded over this winter and shares his experience with snowboarding. Steils went to Gatlinburg to snowboard, and he was there with his friends.

¨I went snowboarding at Gatlinburg for a couple days and after that I went to Florida,” Steils said.

Steils is continuing to do snowboarding because this is his favorite winter activity. Since Steils likes to find the thrills in life, he plans to return to the resort to ski again.

“I have planned to snowboard again and to get a new snowboard for the next time I go,” Steils said.

Sometimes you just want to get away from the cold winter activities and same with Steils. This winter he also did some fishing in Florida. He went to Florida to see some family and friends and got to see a once in a lifetime experience.

“Gatlinburg and Titusville Florida and I fished and watched a rocket take off,” Steils said.

During his whole trip, he was either with family or friends and this was his favorite part of this whole winter. He will definitely continue this once a year journey.

“I did these winter activities with my friends and family, and I enjoyed hanging out with my friends and snowboarding together,” Steils said.

Winter can be a time of staying inside and relaxing in the warm, but it can also be a time where you can go out and seek thrills in the cold.
