Blood Drive at LC!
The blood drive is an event that takes place every year for our Lenoir City Panthers and it happens so the school can donate blood to those that need it.
This year, it is being held on Wednesday, November 8 in the bloodmobile that will be parked outside of the school.
Miss McCombs is hosting this event along with the rest of HOSA!
If you want to participate, you have to be at least 16–with a parent or guardian’s consent–and weigh at least 125 pounds.
Those who are 16 or older must have a parent permission form signed and everyone has to have their ID with them.
McCombs would like to point out that it is crucial for those giving blood to eat plenty of food the day before and the day of!
“It’s very important to eat well the day or two before–make sure to eat a good breakfast before you donate,” said McCombs.
She would also like to mention how important it is to drink plenty of water in order to make this experience a bit easier for you and those who will be drawing your blood.
“You need to make sure you drink plenty of fluids the 24 hours before donation to make sure you have plenty of blood volume circulating,” said McCombs.
There is currently 1 spot left for the blood donation, so, if you’re planning on helping out, sign up now!
McCombs fortunately sent out an email leading those who wish to help a place to put their names down for a spot to donate!
