Back To Wonderland?
Six years after Tim Burton’s rendition of Alice In Wonderland, a sequel appears with the title of Alice Through The Looking Glass. The movie will be released on the 27th of May. The cast remains relatively the same, and introduces a fresh face by the name of “Time.” Alice must turn back the hands of Time, in a timely manner, in order to save the Mad Hatter.
Time, a human and clock hybrid played by Sacha Baron Cohen, has the ability to manipulate and travel through time. He is a villain who Alice must face and defeat. Time is hands down a nefarious, yet, important role in this outlandish sequel. Time isn’t the only new face around. For the first time ever, Mad Hatter’s father, played by Rhys Ifans, is revealed. This contemporary character goes by the name of Zanik Hightopp.
Hope McKee (11) says she is “[I’m] eager to see Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, since he is my favorite actor. I hope the movie is just as good as the first one. I’m excited to see how the movie turns out.”
Katelyn Adcox (10), says, “I’m excited to see the Mad Hatter, because he’s my favorite character.”
The cast consists of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Mia Wasikowska, and the late Alan Rickman. Like in most of Burton’s films, composer Danny Elfman has composed and arranged the macabre and whimsical soundtrack to the movie.
In this continuance of the whimsical story, James Bobin directs. He adds new little touches of quirkiness. For some insight of Bobin’s directing style, it is present in the Muppets movie released in 2011.
Film production began on August 4 of 2014, and ended on Halloween near Gloucester Docks. Famous historic ships like Kathleen and May, Irene, Excelsior, and Earl Of Pembroke were used in the making of the upcoming film.
