Homecoming Spotlight: Keanna Albright

Homecoming Spotlight: Keanna Albright

Each year, homecoming transforms Lenoir City High School into an animated celebration of tradition, community, and school pride. One specific tradition that everyone enjoys is the crowning of the homecoming queen. Every year, 10 senior girls are selected by their peers to be on homecoming court. This year, with a smile and a spirit that both shine bright, Keanna Albright (12) has been elected onto the court.

Being nominated for homecoming court was never something that Albright thought would be on her radar, but she is both honored and thrilled that her peers chose her as one of the lucky girls on court this year.

“It means a lot to me. I didn’t think I was going to make it, I didn’t think I even had a shot. So, whenever I told my family and everybody, everyone was very surprised. So, I’m just very grateful to even be on the court and to be picked out of all the amazing girls in my grade,” Albright said.

Albright is involved in Anchor Club, Panther Crew, and National Honors Society. Her determined attitude and kind demeanor are highlighted through every action she takes to help the school as well as the greater community.

“I try to stay involved through clubs mainly. And then also things like with ACT Prep, I help out Ms. Renker sometimes. I just try to help out my teachers as much as I can,” Albright said.

After she graduates this upcoming May, Albright hopes to attend school at University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She then plans on furthering her education and obtaining her law degree.

“I definitely want to go to college, I’m hoping UTK. I’m going to go into business, probably accounting or finance. And then I’m going to go on to get my law degree after that,” Albright said.

When she considers her time at Lenoir City High School, she hopes to make her mark by being helpful in any way that she possibly can.

“[I just hope to be] helpful honestly. You know, I just want to be kind and help as much as I can. I know it’s hard, for teachers and students, just everyday to get through the day, and I just hope that I can help somebody somehow,” Albright said.

She also hopes to inspire others to try and be more understanding and considerate.

“…everybody has something going on at home. Everybody has something that you can’t see, so just always think about that and take that into consideration, you know. I act mean sometimes because I’m in a bad mood about something else, so from a sad side, or from a happy side, just don’t judge a book by its cover. Always be mindful of what other people might be going through,” Albright said.

Albright is absolutely overjoyed and grateful for the opportunity to represent her school and community alongside the rest of the girls nominated for homecoming court.

“I’m really excited to be on the court with all the girls. The whole court is really nice and everyone is genuinely so sweet, so smart, so pretty, and I’m excited to be involved with those girls. I’m glad to be on a panel with them,” Albright said.

Being nominated for homecoming court certainly is an honor, and Albright’s positive attitude and strong sense of self have helped her to distinguish herself from her peers.
