Homecoming Spotlight: Kara Gresham

Homecoming Spotlight: Kara Gresham

Homecoming is a special time of year filled with school spirit, football games, and fun traditions, and being part of the homecoming court is one of the biggest honors. This year, Kara Gresham (12) is proudly representing her class as a member of the court. Known for her friendly personality and involvement around school, she’s excited to be part of the celebration and share this moment with her classmates.

Gresham consistently finds ways to stay engaged in the school community. She’s a member of several clubs, helps organize school events, and is often seen lending a hand wherever it’s needed. Whether she’s cheering on her classmates, participating in volunteer projects, or working hard in the classroom, Gresham sets a strong example of leadership and dedication. Her passion for staying involved and making a difference is part of what makes her a standout member of this year’s homecoming court.

“I play on the girls’ basketball team. I’m in clubs like Anchor Club, National Honor Society, Panther Crew, HOSA, Mu Alpha Theta, pretty much everywhere,” Gresham said.

After high school, Gresham plans to play basketball at Maryville College while pursuing a career as a physical therapist. She sets her goals high, but nothing she can’t achieve. With a strong work ethic, determination, and passion for both sports and helping others, she is committed to excelling on the court and in the classroom. Gresham understands the importance of balancing athletics and academics and is prepared to put in the effort required to succeed in both. Her drive and focus will undoubtedly guide her toward a bright future, turning her aspirations into reality.

Just like earlier, making an impact on people. Just make a difference every day and grow and learn. And obviously, I want to play at the next level for basketball, so that’s where part of my dedication and hard work comes from,” Gresham said.

Being at homecoming is an exciting and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many girls, and for Gresham, it’s a moment she’ll always cherish. She is deeply grateful for the honor of being selected to represent her class on the court — a recognition of not just her school spirit, but also the kindness, leadership, and dedication she brings to everything she does. With her dress already chosen and excitement building, she looks forward to the big night with joy and anticipation. More than anything, Gresham is thankful to share this special experience with the people who matter most — her friends and family. Their constant support, love, and encouragement have shaped her into the young woman she is today. Homecoming isn’t just about the crown or the spotlight; for Gresham, it’s about celebrating memories, embracing community, and honoring the journey that brought her here.

“Being there with my friends, I’m excited to represent the school, and it’s a special moment I get to share with my family,” Gresham said.

The honor of being selected for the homecoming court only applies to ten girls, and Kara Gresham’s positive attitude and bold determination have made her stand out as extremely deserving of this opportunity.
