Homecoming is an exciting annual event for students in the entire school. During this busy season, a variety of activities take place, such as spirit week dress-up, the Homecoming dance, and most importantly, the selection of the Homecoming Queen. This year, Ashtin Rose Brown (12) has been one of the ten girls selected as a member of the Homecoming Court. Brown has been involved in plenty of school activities and leadership roles that make her a great candidate for this year’s Homecoming Court.
“I’ve been involved in the school by being a part of Track, Panther Crew, HOSA, and Student Health Advisory Council,” Brown said.
Throughout the last four years, Brown has used her role on these clubs and teams to make new friends, participate in new experiences, and make the most out of her high school career. Browns’ motivation for staying so involved and dedicated comes from her family. They have constantly supported Brown through her school activities and encouraged her to accomplish her goals. Brown gives credit to her younger sister and her parents for inspiring her to make a positive impact in her school community.
“My mom, dad, and my little sister Courtney are my motivation to do good in school so I can always be better for them,” Brown said.
Being nominated to be on the Homecoming Court displays the achievements and involvement these wonderful girls have made throughout the year. Brown is surprised and thankful for the commitment her peers made to choose her. She is looking forward to participating in the school’s homecoming activities and encourages students in the school to do the same.
“Being nominated to me is such a surprise, but I’m thankful I’m with a great court… I’m most excited for the dress-up days, hoping people will participate and the days will be fun,” Brown said.
Brown has plans for her life after graduation. Brown hopes to continue her education at College and go on to be a travel nurse. Brown also wants to bring a positive influence to other students, something she has definitely accomplished through her kindness in Panther Crew tours, peer mentorship, and athletic leadership.
“After high school, I want to attend college for 2 years, then do travel nursing… I hope I’ve positively impacted some students, even if it’s something as small as smiling at someone in the hallway or random compliments,” Brown said.
Being a part of the Homecoming court is a pleasure and an honor for Brown. With her kindness, dedication, and excitement for Homecoming, Ashtin Rose Brown is ready to enjoy her senior traditions while leaving a lasting impression on her peers. Brown’s outgoing personality, encouraging spirit, and endless determination have made her extremely deserving of the nomination.
