As Lenoir City High School continues to hire new teachers for the school year, one of those teachers is Mr. Robert Chisman. Chisman is a world language teacher for Spanish and enjoys being able to teach the students and learn about the staff and students that are in the building, all while taking the opportunities that teachers have.
“[Being a teacher here has] been fantastic so far. I’m having a great time. It’s a lot different than back home when I was working in Germany, but it’s been fantastic so far. It’s been a great time with all the students and the staff,” Chisman said.
Not only does he enjoy getting to know the staff but also being able to use the opportunities he is given through LCHS to help himself and others. He also is starting to get a feel of what it’s like to live the LCHS life.
“Just all the opportunities, all the different clubs that we’re going to be getting involved in. To learn about the students [and] what life is like here at Lenoir City,” Chisman said.
Although Chisman is a Spanish teacher he can also speak multiple other languages comprising German, Portuguese, and English. He uses all his knowledge in a World language club to help better the minds of students and their opportunities in the world.
“So, at the moment, I’m getting involved in the world language club. Last week I taught German. Next week I’m teaching Portuguese. So I’m trying to encourage students to come along to the world language club and learn a new language every week,” Chisman said.
Chisman is a hard working teacher who is so excited to have the chance to teach here and learn new ways of teaching. Chisman is someone who wants to learn new things and different ways of teaching and adapting to the new environment he is in.
