High school has definitely been the most stressful, yet the most rewarding time of my life. It was nothing like High School Musical, but it presented me with some of the most amazing experiences that I will cherish forever. One of these experiences being Journalism, which has completely changed my perspective on life and my future ahead of me.
I was sitting in the back of Mrs. Wallace’s digital art class, working on a video game cover for a class contest. She started talking about how stressed she was working on that year’s yearbook, which led me to ask questions about the class. Before I knew it, I was submitting my application for my sophomore year. Fast forward to now; I went from a staff writer to being one of two editors to the 2025 yearbook.
Without Mrs. Wallace taking a chance on me, and the help of all my team members, graduated and present, I would not have been able to help produce such amazing works of art. This class has opened my eyes to the world of design and helped me decide my career path.
Alongside Mrs. Wallace, I would like to thank Mr. Browning and Mr. Kerr, for being such kind mentors to me for all 4 years. Mr Taft, for brightening my day with his comments and stories. And lastly, Mrs. Loan, for all the talks we had in her office, for always listening to my side of the story, and making me feel heard.
I will miss high school. It was filled with plenty of hot friday night football games, selfies, and complaining about assignments. Being on homecoming court, getting ready for prom, skipping school after senior sunrise; all of these memories I will carry with me as I journey through college.
I am sad to close this chapter of my life, but am very eager to continue on to the next one with new experiences, people, and more memories to be made. Thank you LCHS for all you have taught me!
