As the new spring semester begins, the senior class nominates 10 boys from 12th grade to be a part of the Homecoming Court. The ten boys who receive the highest number of student votes are honored at a basketball game for their dedication to the school and their peers. After these boys are nominated, the suspense builds amongst the student body throughout the semester until the day of the homecoming basketball game when the Homecoming King will be announced. This year, the Homecoming Basketball game will be on February 17th. Among the ten boys nominated is Landon Williams (12), an honorable and well-mannered senior who has made an impact at Lenoir City High School.
For Williams, being nominated by his peers was a surprise, and he shared his enthusiasm about the nomination.
“I’m happy that I’ve been nominated by my peers and was met with a pleasant surprise when I figured out I was on the court. I wasn’t expecting it, but I’m happy to have been chosen to be on the court,” Williams said.
Williams shares his passion for making connections with students and making them feel welcome.
“I’m passionate about making connections with other students in a way to promote them to be the best they can be and to do what they enjoy doing. I think highschool should be a welcoming environment and I want to do what I can to be one of those welcoming people,”
Williams shares some advice he’d give to younger students that they should apply throughout high school.
“One piece of advice I would give is to manage your time wisely. It’s good to take your time but also to know the time you take,” Williams said.
Williams shares one of his favorite memories about being involved here at Lenoir City High School.
“One of my favorite memories at LCHS is probably being able to be a leader in both marching band and track as captains for both.”
William’s involvement, respect, and manners towards his peers and his community are one of the many reasons why he is looked up to. Whether it be through athletics, academics, extracurriculars, or just being respectful, William’s honorability is one of the many reasons why he was chosen to be on the 2025 Boy’s Homecoming Court.
