Homecoming is an exciting time at school, but especially for the boys chosen to be on the court. Eli Harrison (12) is one of the 10 boys chosen by his peers to be a part of this unforgettable experience.
In his time at Lenoir City High School, Eli has played as a star defensive football player for the Lenoir City Panthers and held the responsibility and privilege of being one of the four team captains. He is also involved in track, Panther Crew, and FCA. Looking beyond high school, Eli plans to enlist in the Air Force Academy, and he has already received his nomination from Tim Burchett and Senator Hagerty.
Homecoming week offers a lot of different activities, whether it’s spirit week, the pep rally, or the basketball game.
“I’m looking forward to the basketball game and getting to cheer on our team one last time at home,” Harrison said.
Building relationships with those you go to school with is an essential part of most people’s high school experience. You can leave an impact on someone’s life with just a simple hi. Eli takes great pride in his ability to build friendships with those younger than him.
“I am proud of building relationships with the younger kids and hopefully positively impacting them,” Harrison said.
Academics are a big part of high school, but that is not always what you remember the most. You remember the hangouts with your friends, messing with that one teacher, or the excitement of pep rallies with the student body. The smallest details may become the biggest ones after high school and the ones you’ll think about the most. However, Eli’s most memorable moment is a little different.
“[My most memorable high school moment was] falling while racing hurdles at a track meet,” Harrison said.
Eli is a true example of what a Lenoir City panther is, whether on the field, in the classroom, or in his community. Though Eli has worked for his future after high school, his dedication and outgoing personality make him very deserving of this opportunity to be presented on the Boy’s Homecoming Court.
