As the new spring semester begins, the senior class nominates 10 boys from 12th grade to be a part of the Homecoming Court. The ten boys who receive the highest number of student votes are honored at a basketball game for their dedication to the school and their peers. After these boys are nominated, the suspense builds amongst the student body throughout the semester until the day of the homecoming basketball game when the Homecoming King will be announced. This year the Homecoming Basketball game will be on February 17th. Among the ten boys nominated is Jaxson Utter (12), a dedicated and respected senior who has made an impact at Lenoir City High School.
For Utter, being nominated for homecoming court is meaningful to him, knowing his peers have recognized him for his respect and involvement at LCHS.
“It feels amazing to be nominated by my peers and to know that I’m looked up to enough to be given an honor like this,” Utter said.
Utter is involved in many activities at LCHS. He contributes to the school community in multiple ways. His school spirit sets him apart from other students as he shares his passion for Lenoir City High School and the extracurriculars that have made his four years enjoyable and memorable.
“I’m really passionate about the fun aspect of school, whether that’s sports, LCTV, FCA. All of those aspects make me enjoy being at Lenoir City High School,” Utter said.
One of Utter’s biggest passions is football, being on the team he has created many memories and unforgettable moments. Utter shares his favorite moment from this year’s football season.
“My favorite memory at LCHS was when I had that huge kick return and caught the pass during the Walker Valley game to put our team in phase for our comeback victory,” Utter said.
As a senior, Utter has endured many ups and downs. As he gets ready to graduate, he shares some advice with younger students encouraging them to be mindful of their decisions.
“I would tell younger students to be mindful of their choices because high school is when they start impacting the rest of your life,” Utter said.
Utter’s involvement, leadership, and dedication to Lenoir City High School and his community are some of the many reasons why his peers selected him to be on the Homecoming Court. Whether through athletics, academics, extracurriculars, or just being respectful, Utter’s impact is one of the many reasons he was chosen to be on the 2025 Boy’s Homecoming Court.
