Snowy Days and Cozy Ways

The days have been increasingly getting colder as winter continues. Usually, the day’s high temperatures are only slightly over-freezing, so it was only a matter of time before the first snow of the season. Snow is a rare occurrence in East Tennessee, so when it does come, it’s a huge deal. Snow creates beautiful winter scenery, but also brings along fun activities. Many people enjoy sledding, having snowball fights, and creating snow angels. Keanna Albright (11) loved using the snow to make snow creations.

“My favorite thing about the snow was building a tiny snowman,” Albright said.

The snow caused schools in most surrounding counties to be canceled, including ours. The days off created an extra-long weekend for everyone. Many people, including Albright, enjoyed this extra bit of free time.

“I really enjoyed the time off because it felt like the days went by slower,” Albright said.

Snow creates the perfect atmosphere for people to get bundled up and cozy. It encourages people to drink hot chocolate, cuddle up in their favorite blanket, or sit by the fireplace to stay warm in its frosty spirit. Albright also took part in staying warm from the wintery weather by doing her favorite cozy thing.

“I like to watch movies with a blanket because I can enjoy my warm house,” Albright said.

Snow is an exceptional thing and brings delight to many. It creates extra time for people to spend with their family and friends or do their favorite cozy hobbies. Winter is still in full effect and hopefully, in the near future, we can have snow bless us with its presence again and be able to enjoy its wonders for a second time.
