Student Spotlight: Travis Wetzel

Artistry comes in all different forms. Travis Wetzel finds enjoyment in the digital arts platform the most. Wetzel has recently qualified for an art show with one of his pieces that he made in digital arts over the semester.

Wetzel’s piece was a landscape inspired by one of his favorite video games, Pokemon, which he created using the tools in Adobe Photoshop.

“I was very very surprised to learn that my piece was accepted into the show,” Wetzel said.

Wetzel aspires to have a career in digital arts and animation, and taking classes here at LCHS with Mrs. Wallace is a stepping stone along his pathway. He has only taken Digital Arts 1 thus far but plans to apply for journalism next school year.  Being creative has been an outlet for Wetzel during his time in the class, and creating his landscape was the most enjoyable part of the semester thus far.

“There is so much more freedom in creating something digital, and Mrs. Wallace gives us positive encouragement. I like being a part of digital arts, we do various different types of work, and I’ve really enjoyed the semester,” Wetzel said.

Being a part of digital arts has helped Wetzel to unleash his digital creativity and potential. The tools that he used in class helped him to create something he is proud of, and something other people can admire too. As Wetzel furthers his experience in digital arts and makes plans for the future of his career path, his hard work in Digital Arts 1 here at LCHS will pay off.
