Homecoming is an exciting time for everyone, especially the ladies selected to be recognized as members of the homecoming court. Naomi Lambdin (12) is one of the honorable girls chosen by her peers to experience this opportunity as a member of the court.
Lambdin has been involved in the school through her diligent participation in Singers, Journalism, Musical Theater, NHS, Panther Crew, on the leadership team for FCA, and captain of the volleyball team. Growing and sharing her faith has always been a priority for Lambdin. Reflecting on her time at LCHS, she hopes people have been moved closer to their faith through her support and love.
“I’ve based my life around my faith and God, so I don’t want people to see me. I want people to see Him and feel His light and know that they can come to me, not because it’s me, but because I’m going to try and support them and I’m going to show love to them through Jesus,” Lambdin said.
Lambdin is exceptionally gifted musically, which led to her involvement in the choir program for all four years of her high school experience. After graduation, she hopes to attend Johnson University or Lee University, where she aspires to become a music educator at a high school or elementary level. While she is excited about her future in college and beyond, Lambdin focuses on being present and making the most of her high school experience; she advises others to do the same.
“I think [it’s important] to try to make the most out of what you’re doing. You can choose to do whatever you want to do with the time that you’re given. I decided to let these four years be something where I try to figure out who I want to be in life and make a lot of experiences,” Lambdin said.
With the growing anticipation of homecoming, Lambdin is mostly looking forward to spending time with the other girls and engaging in fun competitions.
“I am most excited about getting to spend this time with the girls that I’ve gone to school with all four years. I’m super excited to get to bond with them and play the games with the boys and just be stupid. I think it’s just gonna be fun and competitive, but I also think it’s gonna be something where we’re just gonna be happy for each other no matter what happens,” Lambdin said.
Being nominated for Homecoming Court is an honor, Naomi’s open-minded attitude and thoughtfulness have helped her stand out amongst her peers. Her kind spirit and determination have definitely made her deserving of this opportunity!
