Throughout this fall season, the Lady Panthers soccer team has stood out. They have held an impressive undefeated record, which is a reflection of their hard work and commitment to each other. With each game, the girls demonstrate their individual talent and the importance of leadership and unity, on and off the field. The team’s performance has made the players and coaches proud. One student athlete, Lashea Herman (12), recently celebrated senior night with her fellow upperclassmen and explained how this undefeated season has been different.
“This season, we’ve really bonded more as a team. Growing up together has strengthened our connections, and our chemistry is definitely different now,” Herman said.
The team’s anticipation leading up to senior night was palpable, but the win against Stone Memorial secured their record for this season. The girls had difficulties coming together as a team at the beginning of the season, but after a couple of games, their unity flowed throughout the field and Herman felt the differences that their friendships had.
“Absolutely, that bond has made a huge difference. You can’t be a strong team without knowing you have each other’s backs. It’s reassuring to know that I can rely on my teammates,” Herman said.
The girls remained focused on their goals and it paid off even when times were tough. Their undefeated record is not just a number, but a reflection of their commitment to each other. With unwavering support from their teammates, school, family, and friends, these girls showed excellent persistence and tenacity throughout this season. This season, they have faced formidable opponents, yet their collective spirit and determination have propelled them forward, allowing them to emerge victorious time and again.
