As the football season reaches its peak, junior standout Trea Jones is making waves on and off the field. Playing as the running back on the varsity football team, Jones has quickly emerged as a key player, contributing to the team’s success with impressive stats and unmatched determination.
Starting his football journey at a young age, Jones recalls his early days playing in local leagues, inspired by watching other athletes. Since then, he’s honed his skills, becoming one of the most reliable players on the roster.
“Just watching how other people and other sports work as hard as they work to get where they want to be,” Jones said.
As he reflects on what sparked his love for the game, he describes his favorite moment on the field. He recounts the game that solidified his confidence as a key contributor to the team when his teammates and coaches noticed his dedication.
“That would probably still be last year against Campbell County when I had the 63-yard rushing touchdown,” Jones said.
Balancing football with academics isn’t easy, but Jones has found a way to excel in both areas.
“It’s just hard, you don’t have time for anything else,” Jones said.
He credits his strong support system and time-management skills. Despite the pressures, he maintains a strong GPA and is looking ahead to his senior year. With aspirations of playing football in college, he shares his excitement about the future.
“Yeah, I am planning to play D1 somewhere close but not too close,” Jones said.
As the season progresses, Jones has his eyes set on 1000 rushing yards. He is determined and confident in both his and the team’s abilities.
“I hope to end the season with over a thousand rushing yards and I’m hoping to get another player of the week,” Jones said.
With his leadership and drive, Jones is poised to be one of the standout players to watch as he finishes out this season and looks ahead to his senior year. Whether on the field or in the classroom, he continues to impress and inspire those around him.
