Volleyball Battle of the Bridge

Volleyball Battle of the Bridge

Recently, our volleyball team faced off against Loudon in this year’s Battle of the Bridge. The girls were full of team spirit throughout the whole night, even when it got tough. Despite their best efforts, the girls fell short in the end with a 3-2 loss. Undeterred by this defeat, the girls maintained strong mindsets and learned from this experience. The lessons learned from this game will undoubtedly contribute to their growth and determination. Naomi Lambdin [12], the only senior and team captain, demonstrates this positive attitude.

“It was a really emotional night, especially off on the sidelines and before the game. I braided a bunch of girls’ hair with the orange ribbon I bought, and we talked about the game. I just love the girls and love the team,” Lambdin said.

Lambdin’s leadership and dedication have been evident throughout the season, as have her teammates. Every girl on the team is an example of endurance and teamwork, as they lead each other through both the wins and losses of the season. The girl’s volleyball coach, Coach Hardin, explains how each player provides for the team.

“We try to push that if we have 10 players on the team, then we have 10 leaders. So, looking at senior leadership vs. junior leadership, there is not much difference,” Hardin said.

Coach Hardin displays his and the team’s steadfast perspective on this loss and how it will help them in the future.

“I’m looking at it as kind of a blessing in disguise that we didn’t get the result that we needed. This experience forces us to learn from our mistakes and grow together as a team as we transition into the really hectic part of our season,” Hardin said.

Hardin knows his team truly gained an expansion of skills and powerful motivation for games to come.

The unwavering spirit of this team and the sistership shown throughout their work will undoubtedly continue throughout the season. As they restrategize and prepare for future matches, the support from this community remains unbeatable. Here’s to hoping for a strong comeback and continuation of these girl’s strengths and skills.
