As we approach March of 2024, there will be some changes coming to Lenoir City. Aubrey’s will be closing due to the Fort Loudoun Medical Center needing to use the location for office space. Do not worry though, the owner of Aubrey’s will be opening another location right across the street.
The Fort Loudoun Medical Center has yet to give any information as to why they bought the land Aubrey’s was established which Aubrey’s confirmed on Monday the 12th at a City Council meeting. The Medical Center is super excited to expand and create some offices for the staff. Aubrey’s has been a big help to the community; they provide multiple pancake breakfasts and fundraisers for sports teams and non-profit organizations. Mayor, Tony Aikens, shares his thoughts on the restaurant’s efforts.
“Aubrey’s has been a big part of the community for many years and they do so much to help local organizations raise funds,” Aikens said.
Aikens is glad that Aubrey’s will be staying local to the town of Lenoir City. To build another Aurbey’s it will take around 110 days. The new location will be right behind Freddy’s and right across the street from Firestone. There are only fourteen locations in East Tennessee, so getting to another location will be a little bit of a hassle.
Randy Burleson (the owner of Aubrey’s) gives his deepest thanks to Aikens.
“Your mayor has been aware of the situation and has been a real help. Frankly, the mayor has gone above and beyond to keep us in Lenoir City,” Burleson said.
The mayor of Lenoir City has tried his best to have Aubrey’s stay in Lenoir City and he has done it. He worked hard and long to keep Aubrey’s here in Lenoir city. Although the news of the shutdown is upsetting, this beloved establishment will be back and running in no time.
