It’s a Starry Night at Prom

Once every year, during the Spring semester, students get themselves prepared for one of the most memorable nights during high school! From prom dress shopping, to figuring out who your group is, this time of year is an exciting time for students.

Miss Crabtree, one of the teachers who helped put the prom together, gave us some insight into what is in store for this year’s prom.

“Prom this year is 7-10 pm at Hunter Valley Farms. Our theme this year is “Starry Night.” This is a reference to Van Gogh’s painting. It will include similar colors such as navy, dusty blues, and gold. The venue will emphasize this theme not only with decor but lighting as well, including fairy lights and beautiful low-lit ambiance,” Crabtree said.

Not only does this year’s prom have an excellent theme, but the venue is also at a great location! It is a great spot with multiple opportunities for good pictures.

“The venue, Hunter Valley Farms, is truly beautiful. It has a gorgeous drive up, with fields and horses on both sides. There is a lovely arbor, which will make for great pictures. The inside is ceiling-to-floor glass windows with stunning views of the lakefront property. Outside on the patio, there is a brick wood-burning fireplace. On the lake, there is a dock on the water, which again will make for beautiful pictures. This venue is truly one of the most charming venues we have used for prom,” Crabtree said.

Aside from the beautiful venue and the well-thought-out theme, Crabtree also had a lot of fun planning the prom with Mrs. Hanley and Mrs. Mullinax. The three teachers have had a blast bringing this prom to life.

“I have loved working with Mullinax and Hanley. We all balance each other out well. It was also really fun visiting the venue and seeing the space to really get immersed in what the prom has the potential to look like this year,” Crabtree said.

This year’s dance is looking like quite the party. Students are guaranteed to have a great time!
