Upcoming sports!
A new start to a semester means new sports. This spring consists of baseball, softball and boys soccer and many others. This means upcoming games and events to represent the home of the Panthers.
With baseball season around the corner, the first home game is March 9th at 6:00. The team is now preparing for a good season after such a successful season last year. The season will last through the beginning of May. The players are looking forward to kicking off the season in the next few weeks!
Boys soccer also has many upcoming events this Spring. Before the regular season there are scrimmages upcoming to prepare for the season. The Panthers will be playing Morristown West on February 24th at 5:00 for JV and 7:00 for the varsity at home. The first regular season game is on March 1st against Anderson County 5:00/7:00 at home. The team has put in dedication since the fall with workouts and conditioning. A team member from the boys soccer team shares his pre-season experience. Dominik Forstmann (11) is a foreign exchange student this year, coming from Germany to experience a school year in America gives insight to the hard work needed for a good season.
“I am most excited about experiencing the fun activities with my team and of course showing my skills while playing and giving back to the school,” Forstmann said.
With many positive things to look forward to for the season, Forstmann shares some of the hardships faced as a player.
“The sprints were very exhausting in conditioning. But conditioning as a whole was very difficult at the beginning and exhausting in the end,” Forstmann said.
The player not only worked with the team as a whole, he took his personal training to another level to achieve his goals and strive for the best while being on the team.
“ I did a lot of conditioning and private sport sessions like short and long runs,” Forstmann said.
Aside from Forstmann the other boys soccer players worked very hard in the pre-season to achieve greatness for the 2023 season.
Softball also starts at the home of the Panthers on March 13th against Copper Basin. The games will kickoff at 6:00. The lady panthers show off their dedication and hard work from the winter with training and workouts, come out and support your panthers. The spring kicks off many exciting events and new sports for more exciting experiences and ways to support your panthers.
