It’s A Home Run
April 3, 2023
Spring sports have begun, and the excitement of the start of this next sports season has spread throughout the entirety of LC. Every year, our Lenoir City sports teams go head to head with our rivals across the bridge, Loudon. The games are competitive and very much looked forward to by the students and players of each team. Many come in support to watch orange play red in an intense game with loud cheers and racing hearts. On Thursday, March 23, the community of Lenoir City rallied in support to watch our girl’s softball team play against Loudon. The long-awaited game was full of energy and the girls put in their best effort. Addison Langley (10), who plays first, shortstop, and pitcher, was involved in all the action at this game.
“The atmosphere was very uplifting and the whole team was determined to get the win,” Langley said.
Loudon put up a fight in this game but could not keep up with the intensity and strength that the girls showed out on the field. The Panthers hit not one, not two, but three home runs in this single game putting them ahead on the scoreboard!
“It felt great to experience success with this game and our team was constantly up supporting each other. The three home runs definitely had a huge impact starting the game off right,” Langley said.
The softball girls did an outstanding job and really did their best out on the field this past week. So many were rooting for them throughout the entirety of the game. Softball player Tori Bean (10) describes what the atmosphere was like on March 23.
“As a team, we look forward to the Loudon game and we always do our best and show out. We definitely get more hype when we play against our rivals, Loudon, and play with more intensity. We become closer as a team,” Bean said.
The Panthers definitely grew closer with this win in their pockets and upbeat attitudes remained from start to finish. At the end of the game, Lenoir City won 14-3 against Loudon! Ecstatic cheers spread throughout and left the night on a great note.
